Taylor: I'll Be Fine To Face Chelsea

Swansea City left back Neil Taylor has given the club a boost saying that he'll be 'fine' to face Chelsea next Saturday.

The Welsh international suffered a head injury during Saturday's 3-0 win against West Brom when Odemwingie clattered into him as he attempted to challenge for a high ball.

Taylor was knocked unconsciousness as the injury appeared to be very serious with the game held up for 9 minutes as medical staff attended the scene with a neck brace, oxygen and a stretcher.

Thankfully though, the injury wasn't half as bad as it looked, and Taylor says he'll be 'fine' to play at Chelsea next Saturday.

'I'm okay, I feel a bit groggy, but I'm not too bad,'

'I didn't really remember anything at first, but then it all came back to me. I know we won and that's the main thing.

'I'd have to see the challenge back, but I haven't really got any complaints. I think the ball was just crossed in, I've gone to head it and maybe I've just got there first.

'I can't complain really, he's gone to attack the ball looking to score. That's fair enough.'

Taylor also said that he suffered a cut in training on Thursday, which opened up again on Saturday:

'It was just a minor graze on Thursday and then a proper one today. Hopefully I'm getting them all out of the way in one week,'

'We've had a run of bad luck, but I'll be okay, I'll be fine for Chelsea.'

"It's all very well Taylor saying he's "fine" to face Chelsea and as much as I would like to have him in the team at Stamford Bridge I think our medical staff have to make the decision that is in the players best interest.

I hope he's right, I don't want to have to watch Bessone play 90 minutes at Chelsea next week
