Rodgers: West Brom Are 'Tough Nut To Crack'

Swansea City manager Brendan Rodgers says West Bromwich Albion will be a 'tough nut to crack' on Saturday when they host Roy Hodgson's side at the Liberty Stadium.

Rodgers will be back in the dugout this weekend after missing last Saturday's game at Arsenal following his father's death.

The Swans boss is predicting another difficult game as his side still look for their first win and Premier League goal of the 2011/2012 season:

'We could have arguably won both our previous home games,'

'But West Brom will be another tough nut to crack and they had a good win last weekend (at Norwich City), so they will arrive here with confidence.

'They are strong defensively and we'll have to work hard in the game to create chances as they have players who can hurt you on the break and are capable of scoring goals.'

Despite still not scoring a single goal in the opening four games, Rodgers still says his team are confident and playing 'effective' football:

'One thing that hasn't disappeared is our quality and confidence,'

'We are playing effective football and there would be more of a concern if we weren't keeping clean sheets.

'Offensively, we look a real threat, but goals win games and that's something that we are working extremely hard on.

'We don't want to be applauded just because of our football. We want to be effective as a team because that is our identity.

'But we still have good confidence within the group and if our luck changes then I think our confidence will grow even further.'

"Worried about today as we will be without Caulker at the back, the boy has been immense for us so far and although Garry (Monk) will be coming in I do feel we will struggle for pace and height whilst the Spurs lad is out injured."
