Dyer: We Need To Play A Lot Better

Nathan Dyer says the team did well yesterday to get a draw against Wigan Athletic but they'll need to play a lot better to avoid relegation.

The Swansea City winger won the official man of the match award for another excellent display as Brendan Rodgers' side got their first Premier League point.

Dyer was involved in most of our chances, especially in the first half when we were on top but we struggled to convert our dominance and possession into goals.

Wigan went close to punishing us for that, with two attempts hitting the woodwork and a penalty brilliantly saved by Michel Vorm.

Dyer said:

'All in all we did well. We went out to prove we can hack it in the top flight,'

'We need to play a lot better than what we did - we need to be a bit smarter.

'We got the chances but weren't really putting them away. But it will come.

'We have great players and great scorers like Scott Sinclair, Danny Graham, Wayne Routledge and hopefully myself that will get chances and score goals.'

i agree, a good performance but we'll need to do better in front of goal if we want to avoid a long, hard relegation battle
