Mancini: Swansea Caused Us Some Problems
Manchester City manager Roberto Mancini admitted that Swansea City caused his side some problems in the first half, but they later romped to a 4-0 win, with all goals coming in the second period.
Brendan Rodgers' players enjoyed a good start to their Premier League opener at the Etihad Stadium last night, dominating 70% of possession after about 15 minutes.
It took Manchester City almost half an hour to get into their stride, and debutant goalkeeper Michel Vorm was soon called into action, while the crossbar also saved us a few times as the scores were unchanged at the break.
The hosts got in front after 57 minutes, and they later showed that they have enough world-class quality such as Silva and Aguero to seriously challenge for the title.
"In the first half Swansea played very well and we had some problems,"
"After the first goal it was easier for us, but before that it wasn`t easy."
Mancini also praised new signing Aguero, coming on as a substitute to score 2 goals and create another. He compared him with Brazilian legend Romario.
"Sergio is a photocopy of Romario, they are the same player.
"He is not 100 per cent yet but he is going to be fantastic for us."
"Aguero has to be one of the top players in the world on that display.
"He does all the simple things well, then suddenly 18 yards out he turns into a man who can score goals from nothing.
"His second goal was something people dream about and it was a team effort all the way through, but he was the icing on the cake."
