'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Lita & Routledge 'Fit The Bill Perfectly'

Both 26-year-olds will sign 3 year deals after completing their medicals today.

Brendan Rodgers is said to be delighted at the capture of both players, who he regards highly and that they 'fit the bill perfectly' for what Swansea City are looking for in the Premier League.

'We know the types of players that we want to bring in,' said Rodgers. 'So both players fit the bill perfectly.'

'Leroy is a goal-scorer and has played in the Premier League as a young player,' said Rodgers, who will sign Lita from Middlesbrough from £1.75m

'He is very hungry to return and offers that threat of his pace and power.

'He has shown he is a top player in the Championship and now it will be a chance for him to come into the Premier League squad and challenge for a place.'

Lita has scored 20 goals for Middlesbrough in 51 starts and although the fans are divided on whether it's a good move to sign him, few can argue with Brendan's decisions and the ideology behind his success.

Speaking on Wayne Routledge, Brendan Rodgers continued:

'Wayne has undoubted talents,' added Rodgers.

'He broke onto the scene as a very young player at 17 or 18.

'He may be a bit older older but it's a similar sort of situation to Scott Sinclair where he has not quite found a club to will allow him to settle, play regular and demonstrate his talent.

'This club could be perfect for him and he can play in a number of positions and has a lot of Premier League experience, considering he is only 26, and I've no doubts about his qualities and abilities.

'When he is on the top of his game, he is a player with class.

'Both players look good, look well and their fitness levels are high.'

It is thought that both will make their debuts in tonights friendly game with Celtic at the Liberty Stadium.
