German Goalkeeper Joins Swansea City On Trial
German goalkeeper Gerhard Tremmel has joined Swansea City on trial.
Brendan Rodgers' top priority before the season's opening game on August 15th is to bring in another shot stopper, and the Swans boss has showed some concern that time is starting to run out to bring in someone who can compete with Moreira for the number 1 jersey.
Fulham's David Stockdale was a loan target but due to the fact that the Cottagers weren't able to include a 24-hour recall clause in a deal to Swansea, he joined Ipswich Town instead.
Nottingham Forest's Lee Camp has also been strongly linked with a move but they won't want to sell one of their key first team players and you wonder whether we will meet their valuation of the Northern Ireland international.
Rodgers may well have to look elsewhere other than Lee Camp - though he would be an excellent addition to the squad if he did manage to sign him.
32 year-old Gerhard Tremmel, who has recently been playing in the top Austrian division with FC Red Bull Salzburg, will feature in a practise match on Saturday as the Swansea City squad continue their preparations in Austria.
Tremmel is available on a free transfer after leaving Salzburg this Summer.
