Weston Super Mare vs Swansea City

Swansea City will be hoping it's third time lucky tonight as they are still in search of their first pre-season win.

After a poor performance at Carmarthen a week ago, with the score ending 3-3, they showed a big improvement when Wolves visited the Liberty Stadium on Saturday, but again they could manage a draw (1-1).

The squad will visit a 5-day training camp and during their time there they'll also play Exeter on Saturday at 3pm.

Assistant Manager Kevin Nugent said today: 'You can't say whether we're going to play a first team tonight or not because we don't know what our first team is,''

''The players are all fighting for places and it's up to them to get themselves in the team.

''We don't have the biggest squad at the moment, but there are still a number of options in terms of the side to face Cheltenham.''

''They've got a number of ex-Bristol City and Bristol Rovers lads and it'll be a tough game for us,''

''We hope to produce a good performance and get a good result, but really the most important thing at this stage is to get the fitness right.

''It's about building a base for Cheltenham and the rest of the season after that.''

The Swans could face former Swan John Williams. The striker had 3 spells playing at the Vetch Field, with his last one ending in August 2003.

The 38 year-old has totalled up £425,000 in transfer fees during his career with Conventry paying £250,000 for him 14 years ago.

Goalkeeper Andy Oakes will be trying his best to impress tonight as he looks set to put pen to paper on a 1-year deal when he gets back from the 5-day training camp.

STARTING 11 VS WOLVES:

Willy

Tate - Izzy - Monk (c) - Williams

Robinson - Pratley - O'Leary - McLeod

Fallon - Knight

Weston Super Mare recently lost 4-1 at home to AFC Telford in a pre-season friendly. They beat Taunton Town 2-1 but lost 4-2 to Bristol Rovers, both at home.

I think Oakes should be given a chance onight, as he only played 45 mins against Carmarthen, and 20 mins against Wolves.
