A New Start For Swansea City Midfielder Agustien?

Brendan Rodgers says that it's a new start for Kemy Agustien this year after an indifferent start to his Swansea City career.

The Dutch midfielder was on trial at the club during the Holland Tour and he was very impressive, but he was very unfortunate to suffer a knee injury in his final game which delayed a permanent move to the club.

His injury meant it was difficult for him to force his way into the first team throughout the season, and while Rodgers always said this was the reason for him not playing, there was plenty of rumours suggesting he wasn't willing to stick to team orders on the pitch.

Agustien joined Crystal Palace on loan towards the end of the season to get more games, as he was limited to just Cup games at Swansea City.

Rodgers was asked about Kemy Agustien by Swansea Sound after today's friendly win at Port Talbot, he said:

'I spoke to Kemy [Agustien]. I said that I think his whole career at Swansea just didn't get off to the best start last season, purely because he came in injured.'

'The team then started very very well so it was very difficult for him to get in the team. I think he understood that, but it was frustrating for him and he will tell you that.'

'He's a good guy, I want him to get games because he went out and played 8 games towards the end of the season which proved that he's got a run of games in him.'

'It's now a new start for him. He's come back and looked good in the first few days of training. I thought he done very well in the short period at Neath.'
