Hamstring Injury Shouldn't Be A Concern For Bodde

Ferrie Bodde only managed to play just less than 20 minutes in today's friendly at Port Talbot as he was taken off with a hamstring problem.

Swansea City fans may well have feared the worst at the Genquip Stadium when they saw Bodde going off, but our worries were eased when it was realised that it was his hamstring, not the same knee that had kept him sidelined since 2008.

Not only that, but Bodde was smiling giving the thumbs up just after full time.

After a few weeks of full training sessions, Bodde felt some tightness early on and he was taken off simply as a precaution. It wasn't worth the risk in keeping him on after the injury nightmare he's experienced in the last few years.

Despite not featuring for long, he had enough time to set up the opening goal, as well as showing no signs that he had lost his long-range passing touch. The Dutch midfielder picked out Beattie with a long pass forward, and the Scot brought the ball before easily putting it past the goalkeeper.

Vital Swansea was at the Genquip Stadium this afternoon and we'll provide you with a report, photos and others news from the game that Swansea City won 3-1.
