Bertrand Move Unlikely After Taylor Signs New Deal

Bertrand Move Unlikely After Taylor Signs New Deal

Swansea City manager Brendan Rodgers may end their interest in Chelsea left back Ryan Bertrand after Neil Taylor signed a new contract today - keeping him at the club until 2015.

Taylor has been linked with a move to Newcastle United for a number of weeks now and with his future previously in doubt, Rodgers was considering other targets to replace him.

However, after the long saga involving Neil Taylor and Newcastle United's £1.1m bid came to an end this week, its been suggested that Rodgers will now look elsewhere for targets, instead of trying further to sign Bertrand on loan.

The 21 year-old was on loan at Nottingham Forest last season and made 19 appearances for the Championship club. Whilst at the City Ground, Bertrand played against Swansea City once, as Forest beat us 3-1.
