Rodgers Confident His Side Can Surprise People

Rodgers Confident His Side Can Surprise People

Swansea City boss Brendan Rodgers has full of confidence that his squad is good enough to 'surprise a lot of people' in the Premiership next season.

The Swans prepare for their biggest season yet. They'll be massive underdogs and are automatically favourites for relegation following their Play-off Final win in May, but Rodgers believes in his side and says they do well in a 'fantastic League'.

Rodgers told Sky Sports:

'I feel I only need to add three or four to give us an opportunity to stay in what is a fantastic league,'

'The players we have, I believe, will show up very well.

'If I can support them by bringing in three or four more I think we can surprise a few people this year.'

Rodgers also believes that the Premier League is better off with a side like Swansea City in it, as they'll look to impress with their attractive brand of football.

'We understand we're coming into the most competitive league in the world,'

'We understand and respect it's going to be difficult.

'But we're excited, the whole city is buzzing. We're really looking forward to the challenge of every game, both home and away.

'There's a great feeling around the city and particularly within the club. It's something that the club are relishing.

'I'm really delighted for the players and I'm obviously ecstatic for the supporters. I think the Premier League will be a better place this season having Swansea City in it.'
