Leicester City To Beat Swans To Signing Routledge?

Reports today are claiming that Championship side Leicester City are going to win the race to sign Newcastle United winger Wayne Routledge.

Swansea City made Newcastle United a 1.5m bid for the 26 year-old but it's been reported that it was rejected as it didn't include full-back Neil Taylor in the deal - a player they've been trying to sign throughout the Summer.

Routledge spent last season on loan at QPR, scoring 5 goals in 19 League games - helping Rangers win the Championship title.

The Swans also look like failing with another transfer target - Fulham goalkeeper David Stockdale. A 2m bid has been rejected and while a loan move would interest the player, Fulham boss Martin Jol seems unwilling to allow that as he'll unable to include a 24-hour recall clause in the deal.

Routledge fearful of his long term career? Dropping down out of the limelight for more money appears to be the 'in thing'.
