Mowbray Issues Warning To Swans Over Lita Bid

Middlesbrough manager Tony Mowbray has urged Swansea City FC to mount a 'Serious offer' if they want to take the prolific and talented Leroy Lita or Marvin Emnes who, had a successful loan spell at the Liberty Stadium this season.

The Swans have already had a £500,000 bid for Lita turned down and Mowbray has added:

'They (Swansea) might have been in touch but there has been no realistic interest in Marvin or Leroy,'

'I have no great interest in selling either of them. If clubs come to talk then they will have to be realistic.'

'If Swansea are interested in one of our players then they have to make what I consider to be a serious offer.

'We don't need to do this or that, we will get on with it if it's the squad we have in August. There is no fire sale here. We just have to keep working on it. If there are offers coming in then nothing is interesting us so far - they are a long way short of our expectations.'

Leroy Lita has had previous Premier League experience with Reading over two seasons, netting 8 times in 47 league appearances after transfering from Bristol City for £1 million in July 2005.

Since his free transfer to Middlesbrough in August 2009, Lita found the net on 20 occasions in 83 appearances and commands a career goal scoring record of 1 goal for every 3 appearances.
