Jenkins: Duo Would Be 'Mad' To Leave Swansea

Swansea City chairman Huw Jenkins believes that out-of-contract duo Dorus de Vries and Angel Rangel would be 'mad' to leave the club.

Both players are on holiday at present as manager Brendan Rodgers waits for their decision on whether or not they want to play Premiership football at the Liberty Stadium next season.

The Swans boss has stated that they'll only have a certain amount of time to decide as he looks to shape his squad for the new campaign.

Jenkins said:

'We've had to be patient. It's not ideal to wait, but we've got very little option,'

'They are away and we have to give players some time and respect to make a decision.

'Both players have made it known that they'd like to play Premier League football and with us getting promoted we've provided them with that opportunity.

'In both cases I think they'd be mad to leave a club they have been successful with and try to start again somewhere else.'

Jenkins also says the phone hasn't stopped ringing as the club looks to strengthen their squad:

'They have both been made good offers and from my point of view are a perfect match for the club,'

'It might not be the same somewhere else.'

'We've got a lot of options.

''The phone hasn't stopped ringing,'

'Everyone's offering players, I've had it from every angle, but the fact Brendan is away has given us a bit of respite to think about our options,'
