Jenkins: 'A Number of Bids Received For Taylor'

Swansea City chairman Huw Jenkins has confirmed that the club have received ' a number of bids' for left back Neil Taylor.

Fellow Premiership side Newcastle United have tabled an undisclosed bid which the Swans have yet to accept or reject, which they won't do until they discuss it with the player when he returns from a break.

Huw Jenkins said:

'We have received a proposal from Newcastle regarding Neil, but it has not been accepted or rejected at this stage.

'We have received a number of bids for Neil's services and we will be talking it over with him when he returns from a break next week.'

'Neil is a player we brought to the club this season from the Conference with Wrexham with a view to him progressing and developing with us over a number of years.

'The last thing on our minds is to sell anyone over the summer.'

Taylor made a massive jump in the Football League, having played in the Conference division for Wrexham before joining Swansea City last Summer for a tribunal fee of £150,000, and played 30 Championship games last season.
