Reading Boss Praises Swansea Ahead Of Final

Reading Boss Praises Swansea Ahead Of Final

Reading boss Brian McDermott has praised Swansea City ahead of their Championship Play-off Final at Wembley on May 30th.

Both teams scored 3 goals in their second leg matches to progress through to the final to decide the final promotion place to the Premiership. Reading beat Cardiff City 3-0 away on Tuesday night after the Swans beat Nottingham Forest 3-1.

McDermott says he's got plenty of confidence in his side:

'We have always got confidence because I have great confidence in the group of players I have,'

'We know that if we get a performance, we will have every chance of winning at Wembley.'

He also praised Brendan Rodgers, who was previously a manager at Reading, for the great work he's done at Swansea this season:

'Brendan has done a fantastic job at Swansea,'

'He was at Reading for a while and it didn't quite work out for him, but he has gone to Swansea and done a great job.

'It just shows that sometimes as a manager you need a second chance.'

'Swansea are a good side,'

'They have done really well this season and their home form has been excellent.

'Everybody knows they are a good side because they have been for the past four or five years.

'I am sure they will be relishing the game just as we are.'

'You have two teams who will have a real go at Wembley,'

'Swansea are a good footballing side and we are strong, powerful and play with tempo, spirit and desire.

'Wembley is a fitting place to play the game.'
