Rodgers Thanks Swansea City Fans For Support

Brendan Rodgers has thanked the Swansea City fans for their support this season and especially during Monday's Play-off semi-final win, as they all helped to create an electric atmosphere at a sell-out Liberty Stadium.

The atmosphere really was incredible around the whole stadium, and Rodgers was very proud and impressed by the fans during the 3-1 win against Nottingham Forest.

'I asked the fans before the game for their backing - and they gave me that and much, much more,''

'The atmosphere was electric and the passion of every Swans fan transmitted to the players on the pitch.

'The noise, especially before kick-off, was unbelievable and continued throughout the game. When Darren Pratley's goal went in, you could feel the stadium shake.''

Rodgers also said his sprint down the touchline after Pratley's goal wasn't planned, but his emotions just took over:

'It wasn't planned, I'm normally quite calm on the touchline, but my emotions took over.

'I saw the space and just went for it. It wasn't a bad turn of pace, so the training for Kilimanjaro must be paying off. I was certainly too quick for Mark Gower.''
