Rodgers: Wembley Pitch Will Suit Us

Swansea City manager Brendan Rodgers believes playing at Wembley will be like playing at home due to the playing surface which will suit his team and their style of play.

The Swans like to get the ball down on the ground and pass it about, rather than see it being launched up in the air, and the big pitch at Wembley will help them play their usual attractive brand of football.

Rodgers believes that his side are the underdogs in the play-offs, but they face Reading in the final who they've beaten twice this season already, plus the bookies have made us favourites.

'I think Wembley will be like a home game for us because of the size of the field and the whole occasion,'

'And we have players that rise to the big occasion. It will be brilliant.'

'We must celebrate as it has been a mammoth night in the club's history to get to a play-off final,'

'We have beaten the big teams all season at home but many people would have only seen us a few times on the television as no-one really talks about us.

'We are tucked away in a nice little beautiful corner of south Wales and every now and then people turn up and think 'oh they're actually not bad this lot.'

'But we have been brilliant all season and we felt we could have gone up automatically but we slipped up too often away from home.

'We love to play our football and obviously when the TV cameras come, there is that extra bit of motivation for the players as there are millions of people watching and it is a real showcase.

'But there is no bigger showcase then the one to come. Hopefully we can turn it on one last time.
