Rodgers: Bodde Close To Signing New Deal

Swansea City boss Brendan Rodgers says Ferrie Bodde is close to signing a new deal with the club.

The Dutch midfielder has struggled with knee injuries since November 2008 but despite such a long time on the sidelines - which includes two failed recoveries from a ligament problem, Bodde is close to putting pen to paper at the Liberty Stadium according to his boss.

Ferrie Bodde is continuing his recovery work, and the Evening Post today report that Rodgers was impressed by him in a recent training match.

'Ferrie is close to agreeing a new deal and I am delighted to see him back,'

When he has played, Bodde has proved to be one of the best midfielders in the Championship, thanks to his all-round game of excellent passing, long-range shooting and tackling ability.

He came close to joining Derby County but eventually a deal fell through before picking up the first of his nightmare knee problems.

Hopefully, Bodde can return to action and feature in a full season next here, and if he does it would be like a new signing to the club.
