Rodgers Admits Sinclair Is 'Tired'

Rodgers Admits Sinclair Is 'Tired'

Brendan Rodgers has admitted that Scott Sinclair is tired, after he rested the winger in Monday's 4-1 win against Ipswich Town.

The Swansea City manager rather surprisingly dropped one of our best players of the season having played 2 days before at Portsmouth, but Sinclair came on as a second-half substitute to score a penalty.

Some fans have been critical of the youngster's form recently, but Rodgers has defender the former Chelsea player, who cost us £500,000:

'I looked at him even when he came on against Ipswich and thought he looked tired,''

'I have known Scotty a long time and this is his first full season playing games. And it's my job now to manage that tiredness, as I have to do with Joe Allen.

'These are boys who are really, really talented and I could play them in every minute of every game. But I need to manage their development, and sometimes they need a wee rest.

'I have read some bits and pieces saying he has gone off the pace, but that's because his standards are so high. This is a kid who has scored 20-odd goals as a winger and has played nearly every minute of every game.

'He has worked up and down the line for his team-mates and he has sweated blood for the club so of course, naturally, he is going to feel a wee bit of tiredness.

'If I can give him a little rest I will, but he has been fantastic for us this season.'
