Williams Again Linked With Premiership Move

Ashley Williams is again being linked with a move to a number of Premiership clubs who are apparently interested in the defender.

The former Stockport County centre back has proved to be one of the best signings in recent years for the club when Roberto Martinez signed him for a then record fee of 400,000.

The Welsh international gets linked with a move every year and this is no different as we edge closer to the end of the season and the opening of the Summer transfer window.

According to Sky Sports, Wigan Athletic, Newcastle United, Celtic and Premiership-bound QPR are all tracking the 26 year-old.

Williams has proved to be a consistent and reliable performer at the back for the Swans in the last few seasons and his excellent performances helped him be included in the Championship Team of the Year. However, despite this, he still gets some criticism from few fans for having the odd tendency to make a costly mistake or concede an own goal.

It would be a massive blow for Swansea City to lose Ashley Williams in the Summer - he's arguably our best central defender at the club and it would be very difficult to replace such a high quality player.
