'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Rodgers Praises 'First Class' Performance

Brendan Rodgers praised a 'first class' performance from his Swansea City side as they beat Ipswich Town 4-1 today at home.

The Swansea manager was delighted with the way his team got the win against Ipswich, and the three points guarantees us a play-off place.

Rodgers shared his reaction after securing a top 6 place:

'It's a wonderful achievement by the football club and particularly the players,''

'To arrive in the play-offs with a couple of games to go says it ball for the efforts of everyone.

'But we are not all singing and dancing about it because the aim is still to finish as high as we can by winning both our remaining games.

'The fact that the players are not doing cartwheels either speaks volumes about their ambitions as a squad.

'The most important thing is to go into the play-offs in good form and whenever the season finishes we want to be the very best we can until the end.

'But we don't want it to be the end. Our season starts now it does not finish here. We don't want this to be the end.

'I'm greedy and amibitous and I want us to be the best we can.''

Regarding today's 4-1 win, he added:

'Apart from the first five minutes I thought we were outstanding against a team with a very good away record,''

'We had good control of the game and offensively and defensively we were first class.

Tactically I thought the players were very good and some of our passing and movement was fantastic.''
