'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Rodgers Still Upbeat Despite Dropping Points

Swansea City manager Brendan Rodgers shares his thoughts after another disappointing away result - this time a 0-0 draw at Portsmouth.

The Swans have now dropped further points compared to their rivals and it'll be play-offs at best now as 2nd placed Norwich are 6 points ahead now with just 3 games remaining.

As always, Brendan Rodgers still remains positive and upbeat ahead of Monday's home game against Ipswich Town:

'It's possible. You can only win your games and we go into Monday in a really good frame of mind.

'We'd have liked to have won, but it was important we stopped a wee bit of a rot which had set in.

'Now we go into Monday with big motivation to get three points and we'll just see what happens. We'll win our games and hope the others slip up. You can't rule it out.

'You never know. Teams have gone on winning runs. You know the impossible in football can become possible.

'We'll just keep looking to win our games and keep putting teams under pressure. We're looking upwards rather than down. Our objective is to finish as high as we possibly can.

'What points do we need? We don't know. We just need to keep performing well and wherever we end up, we'll know we've had a good season. The teams below us will think they can catch us because there are still nine points to play for.

'But I think for us it's just a case of concentrating on ourselves. We've got two games in three days, which is incredible after the season we've had.

'But we'll go into Monday, see if we can pick up the three points and then see where we're at.'
