Cotterill: Swansea City Best Team In The League

David Cotterill believes Swansea City are the best team in the Championship ahead of tomorrow's match at Portsmouth.

The 23 year-old midfielder is currently on loan at Fratton Park and is ineligible to face his club tomorrow afternoon.

Cotterill also said that automatic promotion is still within their reach, after a poor run of form away from home has seen us drop down to 5th in the table:

'I still think Swansea are the best team in the Championship,'

'I have played against Reading and Cardiff while I have been at Portsmouth, and I saw a lot of teams earlier in the season at Swansea.

'All along, I haven't seen anyone as good as Swansea and second place is not out of reach for them.

'Unfortunately, it seems as though when they've had the chance to get into second or stay up there, the results haven't quite gone for them.

'It's disappointing for the lads because it looked to be there for the taking, but a couple of bad results have set them back.'

'If Swansea want me of course I would be happy to be involved,' (in the play-offs)

'With 70 points already, they should definitely make the top six.

'It will be a bit strange for me coming back in after being out on loan, but I have played quite a few games for Swansea already this season.

'If required I will try to play a part.'

Cotterill is also not sure about his future and whether or not he'll still be at Swansea this Summer:

I'll have to wait and see,'

'I haven't really spoken to the manager at Portsmouth about whether he will want me beyond this season and I am just taking each game as it comes at the moment.

'I will speak to the manager at Swansea come the summer and then see where I am.'
