Howe Happy After a 'Strange Game'

Burnley manager Eddie Howe was obviously pleased to see his side come back from behind to end their poor run of form against Swansea City.

The Clarets had slipped to 12th before today's game after failing to win in the last 6, but they came back from a goal down to get 3 points to boost their hopes of a play-off place.

Swansea manager Brendan Rodgers admitted his team 'shot themselves in the foot' - just like they did on Tuesday against Hull City as Fabio Borini's opener was cancelled out just 4 minutes later, as Ashley Williams scored an own goal.

Chris Eagles then won Burnley the match, netting from the penalty spot with 15 minutes to go.

Howe said:

'It was a very strange game.

'Swansea were very good in the first half and made it difficult for us but the lads responded really well when we conceded which was very pleasing.

'We showed a lot of heart and a lot of character. The way the players kept their heads was terrific, especially after the run we've had of late.

'The lads gave everything and this has been a really pleasing day after a poor start to the game.

'The way the crowd got behind the team in the second half was fantastic.

'We want to try and win all of our remaining games to give ourselves a chance of the play-offs.'
