Rodgers: 'Tactically, We Were Outstanding'

Swansea City manager Brendan Rodgers said his side were tactically outstanding as they beat a good Norwich City side 3-0 today at the Liberty Stadium.

Fabio Borini helped us to the victory that boosts our promotion hopes as he struck a fantastic free kick from 25 yards, before Mark Gower added a second before half time.

Norwich City had plenty of possession - especially in key goalscoring areas but the Swansea defence were organised and remained strong while Dorus de Vries was in fine form, making some excellent saves to help maintain a clean sheet.

Rodgers said:

'It was a key game for us but the players were magnificent against a top side. We were rewarded for our efforts.

'Tactically we were outstanding and we showed great control. We had our hands full but we coped well after the first 10 minutes and the first goal settled us down.

'We were practising free-kicks in midweek and Fabio hit the ball like (Didier) Drogba. He has obviously worked with him at Chelsea and his execution was terrific. He was outstanding today.

'It was nice to see Mark score. The strike was a great piece of technique while Tamas showed great courage to go in for the ball.

'We have got the same number of points as last season. We have to be one group going into the final six games. We can only control our own situation. It's a great achievement but we have to push on now.
