Lambert: We Should Have Scored Before Swans Did

Norwich City boss Paul Lambert said his side should have scored before Swansea City scored their first goal.

The visiting Canaries started the game strongly and in confident fashion but Dorus De Vries did brilliantly to deny them an early goal with an excellent double-save.

The Swans hadn't created many clear cut chances before Fabio Borini got his second goal for the club, with an unstoppable free-kick that could be compared to his Chelsea team-mate Didier Drogba.

Lambert was obviously disappointed with the defeat but he was pleased that his side never gave up:

'We should have scored before Swansea did.

'Dani and Grant had good chances but their goalkeeper made two saves.

'You have to hold your hand up and say it was a brilliant free-kick. We couldn't do anything about it.

'The second goal was disappointing because we should have shut the ball down earlier but it was a good strike.

'But the pleasing thing is we never wilted. I'm disappointed at losing but we are still sitting second.

'The players are giving me everything they have got but I can't dictate results. I can only get them ready for the game and it's up to them but I'm glad we have another game on Tuesday to bounce back.

'Wes Hoolahan could be fit for Tuesday. We will have to wait and see on Sunday. I wouldn't like to play against him. He's a top player and his form has been outstanding.'

The win for Swansea City sees them 4th, level on points and goal difference with 3rd-placed Cardiff City, and now only 1 point behind Norwich City.
