Flynn Tips Swansea City For Promotion

Flynn Tips Swansea City For Promotion

Former manager Brian Flynn believes Swansea City can achieve promotion to the Premier League this season.

Flynn, now managing the Welsh under-21s team, helped save the Swans from relegation to non-League back in 2003, and he is now tipping his former club to complete an amazing turn-around by going up to the top flight division for the first time in 30 years.

Flynn's inspired signings such as Alan Tate, Leon Britton and Roberto Martinez helped us avoid the drop to the Conference, and who knows where we'd be now if we did get relegated having not beaten Hull City on the final day of the season.

Despite where we were 8 years ago, Flynn told the Evening Post that he is not surprised by our rise through the Leagues.

'I see Swansea getting there,'

'They are in a fantastic position and they thoroughly deserve to be there.

'The key thing is that they have quite a number of goal threats.

'Swansea have a lot of players who can score goals. At the top level, if you have that, you have a real chance.'

Am I surprised with the progress they have made? No, not really,'

'Good decisions have been made on certain managers, and Brendan has really taken massive control over the team now. That is showing in their results.

'I watched the Nottingham Forest game and, although they won 3-2, it was a lot more comfortable than that.'
