'If It's Football, It's Vital'

De Vries: Swansea Deserves Premiership Football

Dorus de Vries says Swansea City deserves Premier League football next season.

The Dutch goalkeeper is still upbeat about our promotion chances despite Saturday's defeat at Preston North End. He believes that our quality and style of football deserves to be in the top division playing against the likes of Manchester United, Chelsea, Arsenal and Liverpool.

De Vries said:

'We have fallen just short in the last few seasons — it was difficult to take because we were so close, so we don't want that to happen again,'

'But this group, with the way we play football, deserves Premier League football.

'We fight for each other and have done things the right way.

'Now we have to do it the hard way.

'All the games left are massive for us and we still have everything to play for.'

'We have played really well in our recent performances, against Nottingham Forest we were excellent.

'It didn't happen for us against Preston, but we have to pick ourselves up — the gaffer will ensure that.

'They (Preston) are fighting to stay in the division, but we are desperate to move out of it.

'Is it a lot of pressure? Not really, Preston are feeling the real pressure.

'But we have a great chance and I can tell you that everyone in the squad is doing their best for the club.'
