Brown Tells Fans To Be Patient vs Swansea

Preston North End boss Phil Brown has told the club's fans to be 'patient' ahead of tomorrow's game against Swansea City at Deepdale.

The former Hull City manager is well aware that his relegation-threatened face a tough Swansea team who 'confident' and looking for another win to boost their automatic promotion chances.

Preston are rock bottom in the Championship and 8 points adrift of safety, but despite their low position in the League, it'll be far from an easy game for Brendan Rodgers' side.

You could say it's the wrong time to be playing sides battling against relegation, especially away from home. We had a bad experience away at Scunthorpe United, another battling against the drop to League One.

Preston have experienced an improvement in form recently since the appointment of Phil Brown, and they've held QPR, Nottingham Forest and Norwich City to draws recently - three teams in the top 6 competing for promotion to the Premier League.

Brown said:

'Brendan Rodgers, make no mistake about it, has gone into Swansea and grabbed hold of it in terms of his philosophy of the game,'

'We are facing a team at the right end of the division.

'They are a team playing with confidence, a lot of pace and are a team playing open, expansive football which is attractive to watch.

'One thing I ask the Preston fans to be tomorrow is patient.

'There will be long periods when Swansea have the ball.

'At the same time, we are going into the game on the back of successive victories. Our tails are up and confidence is high.'

There's no excuses for Swansea City tomorrow if they fail to pick up points. Rodgers has a fully fit team, captain Garry Monk is set to return from injury and loanee Fabio Borini is expected to play after featuring in two games for Italy under-21s - scoring in one. It's a test of our adaptability, which we failed at when we faced Scunthorpe recently, plus our overall quality and how much the players want to get promoted to arguably the best League in the world.
