Jenkins Denies Move For Weston

Jenkins Denies Move For Weston

Huw Jenkins has denied the rumours linking Cardiff City defender Rhys Weston with a move to Swansea.

There has been speculation this week linking the Welsh defender with a transfer to the Liberty Stadium but the chairman has quickly ruled out a move:

'We have had no contact or talks with Rhys Weston at all or at any stage,'

'Any reports that he is joining Swansea City are total rubbish.'

Robinson is again being linked with moves to Southend and Cardiff despite the papers reporting last week that he was likely to sign a new contract with Swansea.

Southend boss Steve Tilson said last week that they had given up trying to sign the midfielder: "Andy would have been a good signing for us but it looks like he's going to be signing a new contract at Swansea,"

"He played well against us last season so he would have been a good one to get in, but I don't think it will happen now."

Jenkins said: ''We are still in negotiations with Andy,''

''We want Andy to stay and we are trying to convince to sign a new contract.''

''We have had no new bids for Andy, but we will have to wait and see if anything happens,''

'' We want Andy to stay and we want him to sign this new contract.''

It seems the media don't know what's happening as regards to Robinson, and I think a move is only possible if talks break down over a new contract with the Swans.
