Swansea City Complete Priskin Loan Signing

Swansea City Complete Priskin Loan Signing

Last night's speculation that we reported on regarding a loan move for Tamas Priskin has been confirmed today on the Official Site.

Rumours began circulating yesterday evening that Swansea City boss Brendan Rodgers was close to securing the loan of Priskin, who he worked with when he was manager at Watford.

Rodgers is a big fan of the 24 year-old and he told the Official Site that he tried signing him at the start of the season:

'I looked to bring him in at the start of the season,''

'But it's only now that he's become available.

'I worked with Tamas at Watford where he was outstanding for me and at 6ft 2in he can offer us another threat and balance for the remaining games.

'He is a player who can add goals to our squad and ensure we have enough cover for the final eight games of the season.''

With a second striker arriving on loan in the space of a week, you have to question the confidence Brendan has in his existing strikers such as Craig Beattie and Luke Moore - who only joined us in January.

Beattie has struggled all season to get a regular place while Moore was playing regularly up until recently - when he was dropped on Saturday for new signing Borini - who netted a brace on his debut.

Priskin is hardly a popular figure at Portman Road, with a lot of fans not really rating his goalscoring ability. Hopefully Rodgers can get the best out of him and he can boost our promotion push.
