Borini 'Proud of the Win' After Debut Goals

Fabio Borini said he was proud of the team's victory yesterday against Nottingham Forest after he scored a brace on his debut.

The young Italian striker arrived on loan from Chelsea only a few days ago and he went straight into the first team for the vital clash against one of our promotion rivals.

It didn't take him long to see why Brendan Rodgers wanted to bring him in loan. The Swansea City manager tried to sign him earlier in the season but Chelsea blocked a move.

Despite his small stature, he showed tremendous strength to fend off opposition players as well as great instinct to net 2 goals. The first saw him to score at the second attempt amongst a crowd of players before netting a rebound in the second half.

Borini said he kept his word, after he promised goals when he signed:

'I kept my word,''

'I'm very proud of the win, not for my own performance, but for the team.

'My goals and performance come afterwards. The most important thing was that the team picked up the three points to keep us in the play-offs and pushing for the top two.

'I liked the atmosphere of the crowd today and the way the team played.''

Borini also told Swans Player how impressed he was by the way his team mates welcomed him into the squad:

'The lads have taken to me very quickly,''

'I didn't know what to expect when I arrived because it's the first time I've been out on loan.

'But the way the players welcomed me in really impressed me.''
