Portsmouth Want To Extend Cotterill Loan
Portsmouth boss Steve Cotterill says he's hoping to extend David Cotterill's loan spell at Fratton Park.
The Welsh international midfielder was struggling to get games at Swansea City and after a disappointing performance in the defeat at Leicester City at the beginning of the year, manager Brendan Rodgers allowed him to go out on loan with Portsmouth - who were relegated from the Premier League last year.
Portsmouth boss Steve Cotterill said he's yet to speak to Rodgers about the midfielder but he hopes to sort a possible loan extension soon:
'David has got another game with us before he goes back,'
'I will have a word with Brendan this week to see where we are. Swansea may look at our fixtures and think 'we might let him stay there for another month'.
'We've got some good games coming up at home so they may think it may benefit them by letting him stay with Portsmouth.
'I haven't spoken to Brendan since we took David. We've had that many games so there is no point me ringing him every five minutes. But I will give him a call this week.'
