Rodgers: We Could Have Done Better

A disappointed Brendan Rodgers says his team could have been better with all the possession they had at Scunthorpe United today.

"Won't be too critical of us as we tried really hard and every player gave his all but it was just not our day as chances went begging."

Swansea City looked like getting at least at point on a terrible pitch at Glanford Park, but we were punished for missing a host of chances when the home side got the winning goal from the penalty spot.

Rodgers was still upbeat in the post-match press conference and said:

'Obviously we have got to be disappointed with the result,'

'On a difficult pitch we had enough of the game to have done better.

'We always knew Scunthorpe was going to be a difficult game because they are a team fighting for their lives.

'They had done well in their previous three home games and we totally understood it was going to be a tough game.

'We're not really concentrating on league positions at the moment, more the performances because there is a process to getting to be where we want to be.

'We know where we want to be on the last game of the season and it's important we understand how we are going to arrive there - and for us that's about playing our own game.

'I would dearly love to take this club to the highest level and we have some hungry players with real ambitions to do that.

'We will keep fighting until the end of the season and see where we are then.'

Swansea City will now look to bounce back to winning ways on Tuesday evening when they host Watford at the Liberty Stadium.

A big error today from Rodgers, he had to start with the same team who hammered Leeds. it's no secret that players form combinations and Dobbie and Moore seemed to be gelling. Neither has played a lot of games--so they must be fresh. First rule of management Brendon--- DON'T change a wining team.

Why change a winning team?, what do players need to do to keep their place?

I agree, 2 needless changes yesterday. it was obvious he was going t bring on Dobbie and Moore in the second half, Beattie wasn't good enough so why not just start them?
eye_nose_hat
Dobbie and Moore should be back in the team for Tuesday night. Monk on the bench maybe?

Big chance could have been 4 points clear come on Brendan
