Rodgers Wins February Manager of the Month Award

Swansea City boss Brendan Rodgers has won the February Manager of the Month award after guiding his side to 5 wins in 6 games last month.

Rodgers was thankful of his players for helping him win the award and to put the Swans 2nd in the Championship table.

He told Sky Sports News:

'Obviously, I accept the award on behalf of everyone here at the football club. The players have been brilliant all season and February has been a really good month for us,'

'It validates a lot of the work that everyone here at the football club is doing to make a success of it here at Swansea. I'm very proud for everyone here at the club.

'There is a real hunger here to do well with fantastic players who are very honest and obviously they believe in the philosophy that I'm looking to implement here.

'We work hard every day and in every game and hopefully we'll just continue to pick up wins and results.'

Rodgers rounded off a fantastic month with a 3-0 home win against Leeds United, he added:

'We've played well a lot of the season but it was obviously a big game against one of our rivals and we've seen throughout the season they are a fantastic side and the best goalscorers in the Championship,'

'The performance was very good on the day and we hope to take that on into our remaining 12 games.

'As a team we've defended really well throughout the season and going forward we're showing a really good range of creativity in our attack.'
