Britton: I'm Back With A Better Team

Swansea City midfielder Leon Britton says the team is better now than the one he played in last season under former manager Paulo Sousa.

The popular Swans player decided to leave the club after a 7-year spell last Summer after falling out with Paulo Sousa, and joined fellow Championship side Sheffield United. It didn't work out as well as he had hoped at Bramall Lane and he completed a shock return move to the Liberty Stadium earlier this year.

Compared to the Swansea team of last season, Britton says it's much better and a lot more fitter now under Brendan Rodgers:

'I've come back to a better team and squad,''

'I've seen it for myself over the last six weeks.

'The fitness levels are much higher because we are training at a high intensity every day. I'm enjoying training. It's always sharp and I think you can see that in the games we've played recently.

'The way the boys performed against Leeds was breathtaking. While I spent most of the time on the substitutes bench, it was still a joy to watch - real high quality stuff.''

Britton was a substitute for last Saturday's home win against Leeds United but he's obviously hoping to be starting again at Scunthorpe United on Saturday:

'We all know from watching the highlights on TV that the pitch is not brilliant up there,''

'But we've got to adapt and get on with it.

'We've got to keep going over the next four games and pick up as many wins as we can before re-grouping during the international break for the final push.''
