'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Rodgers Hails 'Bravest' Players In The League

Brendan Rodgers believes he has the bravest squad of players in the League as they look to win promotion to the Premier League.

Three consecutive wins, the last at Coventry City on Tuesday night has put Swansea City up to second place in the table, and they'll be aiming to continue their excellent form at home to Leeds United on Saturday.

Rodgers has hailed his team's bravery and also spoke about his tactics to always try and win games:

'It's the mindset, different coaches have different ways of working,'

'Sometimes my education is hard to understand.

'When the game's 0-0, some people would be happy with a point so they bring on an extra defender.

'I've always been one that, even if you're winning the game and people might expect you to put on a defender, I'll put on a striker because the spaces open up.

'I think about the game, the detail and try to get this team to win games.

'I think the team had a record of never coming back from behind in games last season.

'It's difficult if you're defensive to change that mindset if you're chasing the game.

'For me, I like to try to go and win it.

'That's how I've always been really.'

Rodgers says his team are getting stronger and stronger for the vital run-in:

'They take big responsibility in games with the ball and they've got that other side as well, that steel.

'We're just going to keep working on our game because success in anything comes in the company of hard work and talent.

'Lots of teams in this league will do the hard work, but don't have the talent. I'm very fortunate because I've got a team that does both and we've demonstrated that over the course of the season.

'Now we're becoming stronger and stronger and stronger. Success is linked to that.'

Stephen Dobbie was the match winner on Tuesday night, coming off the bench to net the only goal in a tough game against Coventry.

Rodgers says he hopes he has given Dobbie some confidence going into the remaining 13 games:

'He's a wonderful finisher and he did exactly what we wanted him to do,'

'Stephen's performances have been excellent and we're now starting to see the contribution from him as well.

'I've said to him 'hopefully I've given you confidence because I've given you a new contract. We doubled your wages'.

'There are going to be times where he can't play all the time, but the one thing he can get is goals.'
