Boothroyd: We Made Swansea City Look Average

Coventry City manager Aidy Boothroyd said his side made Swansea City look average tonight, despite losing 1-0.

"Boothroyd said that they made us look average but who got the result ? It wasn't that long ago that Swansea would buckly under pressure like this away from home."

Coventry dominated most of the game and had the better chances but a double substitution from Rodgers inspired a late winner, as Stephen Dobbie netted with 14 minutes remaining to give us all three 3 points, and a big step towards possible promotion.

Boothroyd was also disappointed by the referee for not awarding his side a second half penalty kick, after he believed De Vries made a foul that was something similar to what you'd see in American Wrestling!

'We gave a very good team a hiding for long periods and we made them look average. I don't say that lightly because I really respect Brendan and his team,'

'But what cost was a mistake by one of our defenders and an unbelievable error from the man in the middle. We are all human, we all make mistakes but that was glaring.

'It was a WWF move from their keeper. It's a penalty so give it. Their keeper took one of our players out and then dragged another one down.

'I sound like I am making excuses but this is the worst I have felt for a long time because the players have really worked their socks off and done really well for long periods.

'If we had scored a goal from the penalty it would have put a different complexion on the game and the momentum would have been with us.

'There will be no sulking. We are professionals and we will lick our wounds and get over this - that's what we have to do. I think we are good side and the players can walk out of here with their heads held high.'

So what? It doesnt matter how we play on the night we got the 3 points end of
Scott_SCFC
and yet you still couldn't score at home with about 19 shots during the game. a number of times we've played well and lost away so its about time we did the opposite - the mark of a good side at the top.
