Hull Make 300,000 Bid For Ricketts

It's believed that Swansea City have received their second bid for a player as Championship side Hull City have tabled a bid of 300,000 for Sam Ricketts.

Huw Jenkins is not looking to sell any of the remaining players at the club after turning down a bid for Andy Robinson from Southend and denying that Yeovil have made an official approach for winger Kevin McLeod.

Jenkins said: 'We have received interest in a number of our players, but we are not looking to leave anyone go. Our objection is to strengthen,'

'We are retaining all the players we think will be key to our plans this season. We are retaining all the players we think will be key to our plans this season. We are pursuing players every day. We are looking at bringing in two to three players between now and August 5.We are looking at some trialists. Some are goalkeepers which could provide competition for Willy.'

'There has been no official enquiry from Yeovil. It's pure speculation,'

'All this transfer talk surrounding our players is welcomed. It means we must be doing something right.

'We are not used to it because Swansea haven't had good enough players in the past.

'But now we have attracted interest for a number of players.

'However, our attitude remains the same. We fell just short last season, so with a couple of players on top of last season's squad we hope to be up there again.'

Ricketts had a very poor season last term despite an excellent first season with the Swans that attracted the interest from Wales boss John Toshack.

He has now been a regular in the International side since his debut and now has 10 caps.

He'll improve though and with Toshack guiding him as well he's got the potential to be a great player. He needs to make a big improvement from his poor performances of last season though.

I admit he had a poor season last season, but most of it can be put down to the amount of games he played since we won promotion the season before. He didn't really have a break after the season had finished because of the international call ups. I think we will see an improved player this season - DO NOT SELL.

Hopefully he'll form a good partnership with McLeod for longer than a few months. Just like Tate did with Britton last season.

Simple as...DO NOT SELL SAM RICKETTS!! I agree that by anyone's standards he didn't have a great season last year...but in the last few matches he showed what he had to offer us and had some fantastic performances towards the latter end of the season...he can seriously have a fantastic season this year and looks as though he will!!

if he had one good one and one poor one then it should be good a good season this year for him.

They've increased their offer.........by 25k! They'll have to bid at least 500,000 to get Jenkins thinking over a move.

or maybe 400,000. I don't think Hull will bid enough though for us to consider accepting an offer.
