'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Moore 'Glad To Get Off The Mark'

Luke Moore said he was glad to get off the mark after scoring his first Swansea City goal yesterday in the 3-0 home win against Doncaster Rovers.

"Took him a while but it was good to see him score yesterday."

The striker, who signed from West Bromwich Albion last month, has received criticism from some fans recently about his performances and lack of goals, but he finally got off the mark in his 9th appearance for the club.

Moore told BBC Sport:

'It was a couple of games overdue I felt but definitely glad to get off the mark,'

'The longer it goes on [without scoring], not so much for you, but people start talking.

'I was totally comfortable with the situation because I knew that goals would come... it keeps a few people quiet I guess.

'It's not easy playing number nine in this team sometimes because you don't really get chances but... when you play with such a good team you're always going to get goals,'

'The spirit within the squad is first class and I wouldn't accept anything less.'
