No Loan Move Disappoints Agustien

No Loan Move Disappoints Agustien

Kemy Agustien said he was frustrated not to be allowed to go out on loan as Swansea City rejected offers from Championship clubs to sign the midfielder.

The Dutchman has had a difficult time at the Liberty Stadium since joining permanently in September 2010.

"Seems weird to me. Maybe some bad feeling or politics in the background? "

The 24 year-old showed plenty of quality and potential during his trial in the Holland Tour, but a knee ligament injury delayed his permanent move to the club.

Agustien has found it difficult to get a regular place in the starting line-up and there has been speculation suggesting that he's not playing due to him not being able to stick to team orders during games.

Agustien was hoping to go out on loan to get regular football:

There was a chance of going out on loan — there was serious interest from Championship clubs, but the manager says that is not possible for me right now,'

'He told me that I'm a part of his squad and he wants me here.

'If I did go out on loan it would allow me to get some games and a run of form going.

'But the main focus for me has to be on Swansea.'

Agustien can't wait to play more games for the Swans but is getting frustrated at a lack of opportunities:

'I want to play — every footballer does — and I'm watching the team knowing that I can help,' said Agustien.

'It's not easy for me sitting on the bench as I think I'm good enough to bring some more quality to the team, but I have to be respectful and keep my mouth shut.

'I didn't come here to sit on the bench.

'I am very frustrated about it because I don't think I've had much of a chance.

'When I have played I feel that I've played well for the majority of the time — maybe not in every game — but I've not had many opportunities.

'It's difficult because you can't be expected to play well in one match and then sit on the bench for the next three or four games and make a massive impact in 10 minutes or so.

'I've seen some players get a good run of games, and they have benefited from that, while I have not really had much of a chance to find my rhythm.

'I am doing as much as I can, but I will have to wait for my chance. Things can change quickly in football.

'The manager has his opinion, he picks the team and I will respect that.

'A few years ago I would have reacted differently, but I've grown up since then.

'I'm hoping I'll be involved against Doncaster and that I'll get a chance to impress the manager.'

It seems like Rodgers doesn't like a loose cannon-- Augustien is clearly a class player but likes to play off the cuff a bit and is not tactically a Rodgers clone. The strange thing is, Rodgers is modelling his style on Barcelona--How would Lionel Messi fit into his tactical plans??

it's really frustrating seeing such a quality player not used on the bench week in week out. it's been months now and they both need to sit down and have a discussion if things aren't working out. we all know how good he is
