Swansea Reject Derby's Bid To Sign Beattie On Loan

Swansea City have rejected Derby County's approach to sign striker Craig Beattie on loan.

Chairman Huw Jenkins said County manager Nigel Clough made the approach last week, but Brendan Rodgers sees him as an important member of the squad.

Beattie has scored 4 goals in 7 League starts this season and one of those helped us complete an amazing comeback at Middlesbrough on Saturday, winning 4-3 after going behind 3-1.

Jenkins said:

'There was an approach from Derby last week about the possibility of a loan deal for Craig Beattie,

'However, after discussions with the manager, he felt Craig was a vital and integral part of the squad, as proved at Middlesbrough on Saturday.'
