Swansea Reject Wolfsburg's Approach For Williams

Sky Sports understands that Swansea City have rejected an approach from German top flight side Wolfsburg for defender Ashley Williams.

Former England manager Steve McLaren is reported to have shown an interest in the Welsh international, but the Swans are not looking to sell any of their players at this crucial part of the season.

Contract talks with Ashley Williams had broken down recently, but the centre back is under contract at Swansea City for another 18 months, so there's no risk of losing him for nothing in the Summer.

His agent said he'll remain at the Liberty Stadium until the Summer at least, but he couldn't rule out the possibility of him moving on to a bigger club.

There has been on-going speculation that a number of clubs are interested in Williams, including some in the Premier League, but as yet none have submitted an official bid.
