Jordi Lopez Leaves Swansea City
Jordi Lopez has left Swansea City after having his contract terminated by mutual consent.
The Spaniard said last month that he was looking to leave South Wales and look for regular first team football so it comes as no surprise that he has left.
The midfielder has barely had a chance to play a game at the club since Paulo Sousa signed him in 2009, despite him being one of the highest earners at the Liberty Stadium.
Lopez said in December:
'I am only 29 and I can't be just going along every week in training and not making the squad,'
'I have around three years at my best to play and I'm losing time here. When you're not playing it is difficult to be happy.
'I think it's going to be very difficult for me to get an opportunity now because the season has moved on a lot.
'I would like to move in January because I want to play — and I can't see that happening here.
'I'm speaking to my agent already. I've also spoken to the chairman about my situation and I expect to move on.'
