Agent: 'Allen Happy To Discuss New Contract'
Joe Allen's agent says his client is fully committed to Swansea City despite interest from Premier League clubs.
The young midfielder has 18 months left on his current contract but manager Brendan Rodgers is keen to extend his stay even further.
Allen's agent Glenn Corcoran says the 20 year-old fully intends to 'honour' his current contract at Swansea City:
'Joe still has the rest of this season and another year on his contract and he fully intends to honour that,'
'We do get inquiries about him and some Premier League clubs have been in touch, but we just pass them on to Swansea.
'It's always nice to get that interest because it tells you that you're doing something right. But Joe's focus is only on Swansea.
'Brendan has talked to us about the possibility of a new contract. He phoned me after the Wigan game (in October) and said he would like to get round to offering Joe something.
'I was a bit surprised the call came as early as it did because most clubs these days tend to leave it until the final year of the present deal.
'But Joe is a big asset for Swansea, they are pleased with him, and Joe will be happy to discuss a new contract.
'No date has been set to start talking and whether it happens now or towards the end of the season I don't know, but we said we would get together at a convenient time.'
