Brown Completes Move to Blackburn

Gillingham goalkeeper and Swansea City target Jason Brown has now completed his free transfer to Premiership side Blackburn Rovers.

The 24 year old keeper has signed a 4-year contract at Ewood Park and he told their Official Site: 'Just a month ago I was waiting on a contract offer from Gillingham, then last week I looked to be on my way to Swansea before I spoke to Eddie Niedzwiecki and he asked me to give them some time,'

'It hasn't sunk in yet, I imagine it will do in the next few days. It just goes to show that anything can happen in football, it has been a whirlwind.

'I can't wait to get started working with the coaches and players here.'

The Western Mail reported a few days ago that a move hadn't been finalised and that a move for Brown to the Swans was still possible. In reality though, it was never likely to happen with the prospect of joining a Premiership side on a much bigger wage.

Meanwhile, Lee Trundle and Alan Tate faced an FA disciplinary panel today for their actions at the end of the Football League Trophy Final win on April 2nd and they now await the outcome.

UPDATE: Both players have been fined one week's wages and have 1 match bans. The club were also fined £2,000.

he would of been a good one to have but it was obvious as soon as balckburn entered the race he wasn't coming.

Bit of a dick really joining them. His Welsh chances will be hindered as he will not be their 1st choice. He thought of the money not his career prospects.

Yet again the Transfer of a player goes pear shaped , why cant HJ just bide his time before speaking about player signings.

Bad choice if he wants to be the next welsh goalkeeper!! Let's hope he does get in the squad or his welsh dreams are over!! He wanted money more than he wanted his welsh future
