Rodgers Confident Williams & Rangel Will Sign

Brendan Rodgers seems confident that both Ashley Williams and Angel Rangel will sign new contracts at Swansea City.

The Swans boss told BBC Sport that he was keen to secure the futures of two of his best players and both Williams and Rangel are believed to be close to putting pen to paper to extend their futures at the Liberty Stadium.

Talking about Welsh international Ashley Williams, Rodgers said:

'In terms of Ashley, it is something I felt it was important for us to do,'

'All the finances has been agreed but there are a few minor details.'

And regarding Angel Rangel:

'I'm certainly hoping it's nearing an end towards that contract. He has been offered it.

'Angel Rangel, again a player who I want to keep because I want to keep the best players here,'

'He came to me and said he was happy and loving being here and wants to get something sorted out on this deal which is great news.

'It shows he is happy with the progress we are making here and obviously now up to the club to secure that.'
