Serran's Looking To Prove His Quality

Serran's Looking To Prove His Quality

Albert Serran says he's looking to prove his quality as he looks set to start tomorrow's league game at Doncaster Rovers.

With Garry Monk and Alan Tate unavailable, Spaniard Serran is now looking to take his big chance to impress the gaffer.

It's been difficult for Serran to get games ever since he was signed by former boss Roberto Martinez, and he'll always find it difficult getting a regular place in the side with the likes of Monk, Tate and Williams at the club.

Serran said:

'It's a possibility that I'll play and I'm looking forward to it because I've been waiting for this moment,'

'It's been very difficult for me because at the beginning it was very hard to adapt to the team, another country and other things.

'That was my first year, then in the second year I had too many injuries. Now I'm working a lot, I'm feeling better — fit and strong.

'This is the time I think to show my quality, to show the fans what I can do.

'I think the best of me is coming. This season is going to be the best one for me.

'I'm ready to show my quality. This is the moment.'

'My best position is centre-back because I've always played centre-back, but I can play at full-back as well,'

'I just want to play, nothing else.

'I'm working hard to get my chance and maybe this is it.

'I had a chance at Wigan in the Carling Cup, but unfortunately I had to leave the pitch very early.

'The important thing is to play, I don't mind if it's away or home.

'I'm going to do my best. I'll work for the team because we need three points to stay at the top of the table.'
