Curtis: Sunday's Derby Match Is 'Huge'

Swansea City legend Alan Curtis says Sunday's South Wales derby match is 'huge' and 'even bigger' than last season's.

Both the Swans and the Bluebirds have made excellent starts to their Championship campaigns as our arch rivals occupy top position, we're not far behind in 3rd place.

Considering both teams' form and impressive performances so far, Alan Curtis reckons it's the biggest Derby match yet and he's confident that Brendan Rodgers' side have the quality to get a good result.

'People were saying that was the case last year, and without a doubt this one is bigger again.

'The positions may change a little bit because of the games on Saturday, but we are going into the weekend with Cardiff first and Swansea third in the Championship.

'When you look at the table and at how both sides are playing, it's huge.'

'This is our third year in the division and we are a really good Championship side now,' reckons Curtis.

'I hesitate to say we are going to go up, but I think we are capable of even greater things this season.

'We will certainly be in the mix next May.'

Curtis is also optimistic of our chances of promotion this season, he added:

'Squad-wise we are as good as anything around,'

'And in the two and a half years that we have been in the Championship, I haven't seen a team as good as us in terms of passing the ball.

'We are getting better.

'The players are really comfortable at this level and, the way we play, we should almost have a touch of arrogance about us now.

'The feedback we are getting from opposition managers and coaches is that we are strong and we are difficult to play against.

'Probably we could still do with adding a centre-forward to the squad, but we look a really good side.'
